Summer vacation is over

I have been away from my blog all summer. Life can be so full sometimes that something has to be delegated to the back burner, and for me it was my blog. My time and energy have been focused on other aspects of life. And here it is Autumn already.

I haven't been buying to sell this year, I only buy for me, and I actually don't buy much at all. I have been doing just the opposite, I have been giving away things to friends, donating to thrift stores and bringing boxes of items to sell at auction. All because I am pearing down the "things" that I own and I defining the collections that I want to keep and the ones that I am letting go of. And you know what? It's ok. It's actually liberating. I guess my tastes are maturing. I would rather spend $100 on one investment piece than $10 on 10 different things. Yes, I am buying the rare and investment quality items now. That may mean I only buy one thing a month.

Another reason I haven't been buying much is because Dona has been recouperating from a broken leg and ankle from a crazy accident so we only went out one time together this entire summer. I think it was once. Can you believe that? We used to go out every Saturday and fill her SUV once, twice, maybe 3 times. And that is how I ended up with so much "stuff" in every corner and drawer.

I guess blogging is like riding a bike. Once you get in the seat and get going it all comes back to you. I hope so. I feel like a newcomer all over again. I think I will first tackle updating my blog. It is so stale looking.
