Project update

Before I get to the projects, look what $4 will get you. Yes, I spent a whopping $4 on all of this. All of these items are things that I collect or will use. The mini red vases went on the shelves with my other red glassware, I cleaned the silver tray and kept that in the bathroom, the tapestry has been handwashed and I will decide where to hang it. I have plenty of new books to read while I relax on my new patio area.

The bamboo shelf is adorable. It was in the land of misfit furniture. $1 price tag on it. Nobody wanted it. It was dirty and faded. A good washing and some Murphys oil soap and the color came alive. The shelf is now in my bathroom and I had fun filling up the shelves with things around the house. It is fun to shop in your own home.

So now the update on the projects. Well...the cat situation didn't work out. Precious just couldn't accept the new cat, Luca, so my son agreed to take Luca. Those two are a match made in heaven my son and the cat. I have been cleaning carpets all weekend to get rid of the urine smell. Oh yeah, it has not been nice.

The wall is coming along, one stone at a time. My brother is building the wall, and I was the helper (if you can call it that) on Saturday. See the corner cap stone? I laid that one. Just in time to make some sun tea.

The estate sale that I am coordinating which was scheduled for today was canceled by the family and rescheduled for next Saturday. I'm looking forward to that. It's very satisfying to be able to help a family go through the process of letting go of their loved one's possessions.

And my other blog Colonial Revival Home is coming along. It's my outlet for random snapshots of my thoughts on a what country living state of mind can be. I hope you will enjoy.
