Have a Seat

I didn't get a chance to go out to the sales this Saturday, I had family priorities. I am also not ready to post any Christmas decorations, as they are in the corner of the attic and I won't attempt to tackle that project until next weekend. As soon as I get those tubs out I will have losts to share. But I wanted to show you some chairs that I've had for a little while now. They are projects waiting to happen. I told you about how I had a thing about chairs, these are just 2 of the chairs that I rescued recently.

I couldn't leave them. They are really beautiful. They just need some TLC. They will have to wait until after the holidays.
I want to share with you some of the previous projects that I have completed. The intent with all of these projects was to rescue and repair and then sell. But after the project was complete I couldn't part with them. This chair I found a couple of years ago, it was in terrible shape. A good cleaning, a new seat with new padding, paint and reupholstered and it is now the desk chair in my den.

This bench was one of those items that I found in the back of a garage at a garage sale that really wasn't for sale. I seem to be attracted to those items. You know the ones that are not for sale. So when I inquire about that forlorn item, the seller looks at me like I'm a nut. I do this all the time. The seller usually turns to their spouse in their confusion and asks for their permission and/or their advice. I usually get the item for a great price, I think they are stunned, like a deer in the headlights.

This bench just needed a good cleaning, oiling and waxing, a new seat and reupholsted this one in the same fabric as my living room curtains. We can't live without it now.

Here is another bench that was also in terrible shape. I just reupholstered this one last week. Another keeper.

Are you beginning to see a pattern? A method to my madness? This love affair has evolved over time. So I have started a new blog where I will feature my design projects called Magnolia Street Style Designs. I hope you will visit.

I checked on you earlier in the day and you hadn't posted yet!

I have a couple of old chairs, too, one I got for $5, but it has "good bones" and I'm looking forward to saving it! I already know I'm keeping it, too - Happy Thanksgiving! Vickie

and I will check out your other blog!
